RP Start Module 2 - Horizon Europe for beginners, on April 30, 2025

Module 2 “The Project” of the seminar series “FP Start” will familiarize you with Horizon Europe, the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (2021 - 2027). The event is aimed at potential participants in the Framework Program who have had little or no contact with European research policy so far, but who want to prepare for a future application and get to know the specifics of participating in the Framework Program as a first step.

Forum of the NCP Bioeconomy and Environment: Be there, stay there and take off: Horizon Europe!, on May 14 and 15, 2025

The Forum of the NCP Bioeconomy and Environment will focus on the path from the national to the European funding landscape in the context of the topics of Cluster 6 as well as the water and soil mission. You can expect interactive formats that will enable you to make contacts and exchange views on important issues, keynote speeches by representatives of the European Commission and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as a panel discussion with successful project partners and coordinators.

At the final Funding Lunch, you will have the opportunity to round off the event with discussions on various topics relating to Horizon Europe and Cluster 6 over lunch. Like all services of the NCP Bioeconomy and Environment, this event is free of charge.

Information day: Research in Europe, on May 15, 2025

The Research in Europe information day is particularly designed for advanced students, graduates, doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, habilitation candidates, and multipliers. Organised by the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) and the Saarland University, the event provides a compact overview of funding opportunities in Germany and the EU. Leading German funding organisations will present their programs and will be available for individual inquiries at information stands throughout the event. As this is a nationwide event, interested participants from outside Saarland University are also very welcome. Participation is free of charge.

KoWi Seminar: EU Compact I, on November 18 to 20, 2025

The European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations (KoWi) in Bonn is once again hosting the first part of the EU Compact seminar series on European research funding. The EU Compact I seminar is particularly designed for newcomers to the field of EU funding consulting and project management. The program provides a basic overview of the structure and functioning of the Horizon Europe research framework program.

The agenda includes presentations on the political background of the framework program and key funding instruments, as well as contributions on project administration and many practical elements. In addition, external subject matter experts complete the program. The aim is also to promote networking, both among participants and with KoWi employees. A mandatory prerequisite for participation is affiliation with a German university, a public research institution, or an organisation that is a member of the KoWi sponsoring association. The expected participation fee is 150 €.
